Looks like it’s the end of an era ladies and gentlemen. The writing was on the wall for some time and Sony has finally decided to pull the PS Vita off life support. Our plug claims that a Sony rep conducted an interview with popular Japanese magazine Famitsu. In that interview

“Sony Interactive Entertainment’s senior vice president Hiroyuki Oda says that the company plans to end production of Vita in 2019, and has no announcements planned for a successor of any kind at present.”

No surprise here. The writing was on the wall when Sony announced they’d stop giving free Vita games to PS Vita owners a few months ago. You hardly ever hear about new Vita games if ever either. I think it could have done so much better if it just had R2 and L2 buttons like the regular Playstation setup and more games. It is what it is. Pour one out for the Vita folks!
