The loot box situation overseas is still taking its toll on EA games. After the Battlefront 2 situation which was a huge spark to the entire War on Loot Boxes, now it’s sprinkling down to one of EA’s most popular titles FIFA. Now a blog post was made explaining the decision to remove FIFA Points from the game in Belgium starting tomorrow January 31st on console and PC. This means players will no longer be able to buy FIFA Points using real money. You will have to actually play the game in Ultimate Team in order to unlock packs (which you could always do).
In addition, EA has now made the pack probabilities transparent in their games so that it’s not a situation of “gambling”. Do you think these rules will trickle over to the US and almost eliminate loot boxes forever?
