Madden (believe it or not) is still a pretty big contender amongst competitive video games. EA recently hosted the “Madden Bowl” 2017 which is one of four big events they’re hosting throughout the year. Chris “Dubby” McFarland won the entire thing and ended up netting $75,000 in prize money. Unfortunately, Chris had some rather nasty things to say and ended up getting docked $3000 for it.
He has since deleted his tweets before anyone could get to it, but a few people said that he tweeted some racist things, stemming from as far back as 2011-2012. EA released a full statement below. This is the first time I’ve heard of an E-sports player getting money docked for something they said or did. The world of E-sports and traditional sports are merging together rapidly.
