The biggest topic across the gaming community this week has been the new game by EA and DICE Battlefront 2. Microtransactions, loot crates, and hero progression has the community very angry. People have even gone so far as to threaten various EA/DICE employees because of their practices.

Given the constant negative feedback about the game, John Wasilczyk the executive producer at DICE issued a statement regarding Battlefront 2. In the statement, he acknowledged the number of game credits it takes to unlock certain heroes such as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. The team will now reduce the number of credits to 15,000. This is a reduction os 75%. Other characters such as Chewbacca and Emperor Palpatine will be reduced to 5,000 credits.

Other things have been addressed such as game modes and other mechanics like lightsaber throws. the DICE team will be holding a Reddit AMA tomorrow so everyone can further get their issues off.

I will say that at least DICE is responding and making some of the necessary changes to ensure this game isn’t completely pay 2 win. There are still other factors such as loot crates that will ultimately turn people away from the game, but addressing the super grind for heroes is a step in the right direction.
