Captain America: Civil War made its Red Carpet premiere this past Tuesday and one of the highlights of the film according to numerous people who were in attendance at the event was Tom Holland‘s performance as Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
Yesterday at Fox’s Deadpool Blu-ray release, director Tim Miller and producer of the film Simon Kinberg talked about the possibility of the two wise cracking heroes teaming up on the big screen, to which the director stated “Simon and I have been trying to build bridges.”
Kinberg, who was the one responsible for convincing Fox to greenlit the Deadpool film, also added to the speculation stating that while he would love to see it happen he’s unsure if it’s a possibility at this moment in time.
“I would love to see it. Both of us are close with [Marvel’s] Kevin [Feige], we respect and love Kevin. If it were even remotely possible, we will find a way ’cause we’d would love to see it.” he also added “I just don’t know if it would be possible.”
Spider-Man and Deadpool have teamed up numerous times over the years and their crossovers are some of the most popular in Marvel’s comicbook history. The two wisecracking heroes would fit perfectly together on the big screen and with the recent deal Sony signed with Marvel to share the rights of the Spider-Man character on the big screen it’s certainly not impossible for us to someday see the two of them team up on the big screen.
