To promote his upcoming film Jurassic World, Chris Pratt recently sat down with GQ, where he spoke on many topics, including those Ghostbusters and Indiana Jones rumors, a great Kim Kardashian joke, and, of course, Guardians of the Galaxy.
It’s well-known that Marvel has their actors sign multi-picture deals with the studio. Chris Pratt is only one film into his deal and Chris Heath, correspondent for GQ, wrote this in the Pratt cover story:
And for the record, this is how he describes, almost more to himself than to me, his future Guardians of the Galaxy obligations: “…I’m tied to doing three more, or five more, Guardians of the Galaxy or whatever it is, you know, two more Guardians plus another couple…” I think this means he is committed to at least two sequels, as well as spin-off projects where his character will appear with other Marvel characters.
Marvel has already released their Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) plans until 2019 and included in the Phase 3 film slate is just one Guardians of the Galaxy sequel, releasing May 5, 2017. Where might the third GOTG film slot in? This makes one also wonder — what other MCU films will Pratt, as Star-Lord, appear in?
The obvious answer is Avengers: Infinity War — Part 1 and its sequel. However, I personally (just me speculating) think it’s more likely Star-Lord (and maybe even the rest of the Guardians) appear in Captain Marvel, releasing November 2, 2018, in between the Infinity War films. This would then lead into Captain Marvel and the Guardians joining Infinity War — Part 2.
Either way, us fans will have plenty of time to speculate. Leave your speculation in the comments section below!
