Next year we’ll be seeing Wonder Woman finally make her big screen debut on the highly anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with Gal Gadot (Fast and Furious Franchise, Triple 9) set to play the character. But before DC had established their cinematic universe, a Justice League film (entitled ‘Justice League Mortal‘) was in the planning stages with renowned director George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road) set to helm the film, with another Wonder Woman meant to hit the big screen portrayed by actress Megan Gale.
The images, which you can check out below, debuted online at photographer Marc Rogers website and they showcase the Amazonian princess sporting her costume in full glory. The costume is very different from the Zack Snyder’s version of the character, with the former having a more colorful look than its more recent counterpart.
Back in June of this year artist Steve Skroce, who was working on the film before the project fell apart, revealed the storyboard for what would have undoubtedly been an amazing fight sequence between the Man of Steel himself and Wonder Woman.
“It was incredibly fun drawing the DC comics characters which I hadn’t had the opportunity to do until then. It’s Wonder Woman versus Superman ( they have their reasons, mind control!)”
Some concept art photos also made their way only some time ago which featured some of the heroes including Santiago Cabrera’s version of Aquaman sporting crustacean armor, as well as having the water hand, similar to his comic book counterpart from the early 2000’s. The next 2 photos feature Wonder Woman flying over Themyscira with the sun setting in the background, while the other featured the Amazon Princess punching a car in mid-air. The last piece of concept art features Martian Manhunter’s head sculpture.
The film would feature an interesting, yet talented cast as we would have seen Adam Brody star as Barry Allen/The Flash, D.J. Cotrona as Superman, Common as John Stewart/Green Lantern, Armie Hammer as Batman, Santiago Cabrera as Aquaman, Hugh Keays as The Martian Manhunter, Jay Baruchel as the film’s villain Maxwell Lord, and Megan Gale as Wonder Woman.
Check out the pictures below and let us your thoughts on all the concept art and Wonder Woman’s look. Do you prefer Zack Snyder’s version or George Miller’s version of the character. Let us know in the comments below.
