I’ve been present on earth for twenty-eight years now and in all my time on earth, I’ve NEVER witnessed a good live action video game movie. Capcom doesn’t care about that. Today they announced they’re working on a live-action adaption of Mega Man.

This new is coming heels of the recently released Mega Man 11. Chemin Entertainment; known for their work on Planet Of The Apes films will be producing the film alongside Masi Oka from Heroes. In the press release, Capcom’s on record saying the quote below.

“Based on the influential and globally beloved Mega Man franchise, Capcom aims to appeal to a diverse audience, including not only game players but action movie fans as well, with an adaptation that maintains the world of the Mega Man games, while incorporating the grand production and entertainment value that Hollywood movies are known for.”

This is just an announcement. The movie doesn’t have a name or release date. I doubt this movie has a finished script either. It’s going to be a while, but it’ll be interesting to see how this one plays out.
