Australia has a history of banning all entertainment items that the continent classifies as “too violent”. One of the notable games that made worldwide headlines was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Now more than a decade later and with other countless games that have been banned, Australia found another game to officially ban, We Happy Few.
According to the Classification Board, “the game depicts matters of sex, drug misuse or addiction, crime, cruelty, violence or revolting or abhorrent phenomena in such a way that offend against the standards of morality, decency and propriety generally accepted by reasonable adults to the extent that they should not be classified.”
We Happy Few was delayed, after initially being playable on PC and Xbox One. Now it is set to drop this summer. Generally, when games are banned in Australia, that’s the final say. Sorry to those folks in Australia who enjoy games with a little violence!
