Every good thing must come to an end. Every great empire falls. We might just be seeing the fall of the Transformers cinematic universe.
The fifth film Transformers: The Last Knight released last weekend and sales show that the viewers might finally be sick of Optimus and the gang.
Our mole told us that The Last Knight only made “$45.3 million from Friday-Sunday & $69.1 million since opening Wednesday” in North America. This is terrible by Transformers standards.
Why? Normally the Transformers films rake in hundreds of millions on opening weekend alone. Maybe America has finally realized how terrible these Michael Bay explosion fests are?
Too bad the rest of the world hasn’t. The film may be doing terribly in America, but The Last Knight is still making a killing across the pond. China brought in 123 million alone. Combined with the rest of the world it totals 265 million made.
Long story short; expect another Transformers film.
