Adidas announced last Friday that it will move forward to first mass-produced 3D printed shoe called, the Futurecraft 4D. The 3D printed shoe will go on sale later this fall. The sole of the shoe will be the 3D printed part and thanks to a start-up company name Carbon this has become a reality. They currently use the digital light synthesis technique which is apparently much more efficient than regular 3D printing. The technique will make the shoes more durable.
I won’t lie and say I wouldn’t be interested in testing out the shoes for myself. Adidas have always been known to have some nice light comfortable shoes. This will be the world first high-performance footwear featuring midsoles that are crafted light and oxygen thanks to digital light synthesis.
