One of 2014’s best first-person shooters might be getting a sequel within a couple years’ time. Alicja Bachleda-Curuś, voice actress of Anya in Wolfenstein: The New Order, was giving an interview with Polish TV station TVN when she let slip that Bethesda may have plans for a sequel to The New Order. Eurogamer translated what she had to say:
“I’m working on a video game, first part of which I have already made. Now we’re making a second one, which will take two more years. I played this game as a child. I was very happy when I got to the point where I could shoot Hitler.”
I think it’s pretty obvious that she is referring to the Wolfenstein series, but Bethesda has yet to announce a sequel to Machine Games’ The New Order, so take this at face value, especially when you consider that this is just a voice actor’s translated comments with little context. If the game is truly two years away, then don’t expect any official announcements for a while either.
Until a sequel is announced, fans of the series will just have tide themselves over by playing The New Order and Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, which was recently released on disc.
